When you are in psychological distress and someone really hears you without passing judgement on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels damn good!

Fees

Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £60.

Couples / Joint therapy sessions last 80 minutes and cost £90.

I also hold a small number of concessionary spaces for those on lower incomes — please ask if this would help you access therapy.

How many sessions will it take?

I am client led, so that answer depends on you – do you have a specific issue you want to deal with? Do you want to limit our work to a set number of sessions? We work at your pace – you are the expert on you. Talk to me and we'll discuss the right path for you.

What about inclusivity?

I welcome clients of all backgrounds, identities and experiences. I'm committed to creating a space where you can bring your full self — whatever that looks like.

I am actively educating myself around racism, gender and sexuality, and consider myself an LGBTQIA+ ally.

My aim is to meet you with openness, humility and respect — I will be curious about your experience, and I will strive to ensure you feel safe to be exactly who you are with me.

What is an integrative counsellor?

Being an "integrative counsellor" simply means that I work across multiple theories and methods of working – I adapt what I use to suit the client and the work we're doing.

Sometimes, especially in times of deep struggle, "person centred" is all that a person can take. Sitting with someone who wants to really hear you, to know what it is you're going through and offer you unconditional positive regard, empathy and honest reflections can be profoundly healing.

At other times, if your thinking feels off-kilter — for instance, when you feel on the brink of catastrophe but know deep down it's probably not — that's where CBT techniques can help.

"Gestalt therapy" is about working with the here and now, believing that problems from the past show up in the present, and offers a whole raft of ways to experiment and find out what the patterns are.

These are just a few of the many schools of thought, and I consider these theories my toolkit – and being an integrative counsellor means I keep a variety of tools in there.
